For myself it didn't hurt until afterwards. I knew it could possibly hurt but I definitely wasn't prepared for the emotional effect it had on me.

It didn't hurt me because I was really wet and I guess more "ready" for it, thanks to foreplay but  friends of mine had painful experiences even with all of that so it's really on a case by case basis, The pain shouldn't be anything too major, just be comfortable and try not to be too tense.

It shouldn't hurt if it's done right. Make sure you use lube so he's not going in "dry" and foreplay is a good thing to do as well
