Child visitation question

My husbands ex wife has been refusing to let him see his children and we have been letting it slide because we just don't like confrontation. My husband currently works out of town and likely won't be home for his oldest birthday. Could I get in any legal trouble if I drop off some goodies for him at the schools front desk (no physical contact with him)? Last month she did not allow us to drop off cupcakes and cookies for the younger one at his daycare. I just don't want his son to think his dad forgot about him because its far from true.
