Anyone getting the Owlet monitor?

Question

Been considering buying the Owlet baby monitor this whole pregnancy, I'm due 10/20. I know the Owlet in no way prevents SIDS, but I look at it like it functions like a smoke detector-it will notify me if something is wrong. I just want to be notified if my baby has a breathing problem so I can take action. Is the Owlet worth splurging on (it's $250, yikes) or should I pass? Am I being a worrywart?

I purchased the snuza. I'm nervous about false alarms but I feel like it will help me get a few hours of sleep at night

I have used the Graco Angelcare since my first.  It has a mat to monitor breathing.  Check it out.

I was considering it but I read a lot of reviews online about it not reading properly and I figured that would just make me more nervous!

I'm on baby #3 using the snuza monitor, love it. You could look into that as well!

I got it and my little man has been using it every night. Gives me tons of peace and allows me to sleep so much better. Totally worth it in my opinion.

We have something called an angel care alarm in the uk.., sounds similar. My sister and cousin both used them.,. I plan to as I know false alarms will occur but would rather be woken up to that and have something in place. God forbid my little one actually stops breathing it will give me the chance to call for help and do CPR... here's praying we never need it for that! X

We got one at our babyshower. My SO's baby sister passed away from SIDS and he's had so much anxiety about our baby because of that. We watched all the videos and tutorials we could on it on this monitor and have been testing it out on our thumb so we're ready and know all the possible false alarm triggers.  Anything to help ease his mind a little bit can't hurt. He says he'd rather have a false alarm than no alarm. Nothing is going to be 100% but as first time parents we definetly don't mind the help.

Me and my husband purchased one. I think it's worth it if it can alarm us something is wrong and having that peace of mind.

I purchased one. I went back and forth too, but I knew that if something did ever happen and I chose not to buy one I would always ask myself if I could have prevented it. I would have a lifetime of guilt on top of the pain. So I figured it was the right choice for me.
