No judgement, c-section request.

I'll put aside my reasons, and just say I've been researching and other mothers due to their own personal reasons have chosen to get a c section. Thing is I'm not really sure if they just let you if you ask or if you don't have "good enough reasons". I know the recovery is longer but I really feel that it is the best option for me and my baby. Has anyone had experience with this? Do I talk to my midwife or doctor (he's super nice and has helped me in the past)?
