sex to start labor

I'm 39+1 weeks and Doctor said sex can start contractions. Usually my contractions from sex will last a couple hours and then they stop. Me and my husband had sex this morning hoping to get things moving along and now I'm having a lot of painful pressure. I can still walk and talk, but the contractions haven't started and it's just lots of pressure. What should I do?
