Why did my DR tell me you can ovulate with hcg in your system??

Has this happened to anyone??? I had a positive opk and all signs of ovulation and My,hcg was 120. I asked the DR and she said it is very possible to ovulate and she wasn't that happy with me it seemed lol since I've been trying. I had my d&c three weeks ago😯

This happened to me! I had not had a period from my last miscarriage.

Everything I've heard has said you won't ovulate until hcg goes down. Once it goes back down your other hormones try to get back into your normal cycle. Opks measure LH (leutenizing hormone) which peaks 12-24 hours before your egg is released. Progesterone should rise as soon as you've ovulated (which causes your BBT to rise) either until your period, or if you get pregnant it stays elevated. Hcg only rises after implantation (usually at least 7 days after conception) which is why it takes around 12 days (dpo) for most women to get a positive pregnancy test.
