When to take maternity leave

Hellooo,

I was just curious what other people did. As of right now my last day of work is 12/16, baby due 12/17. Did anyone else keep working past their due date until baby came, or is due date kind of when you call it quits either way?

I'm due 12/10 and planning on working until she arrives! I'm an insurance agent and work at a desk so it shouldn't be an issue! My bosses are awesome and willing to drive me to the hospital if my water breaks at work 🙈 let's hope that doesn't happen!!

I'm due 12/9 and was planning on taking off right after thanksgiving, but I ended up getting up very ill a couple weeks ago and had to use the 1 week of PTO I had left. I don't want my maternity leave to start until the baby is actually born.

I get 6 weeks paid, then can use STD if I want to- luckily, my company made me remote recently, so I can work up to my due date.

Where I work we have to take it 6 weeks prior. But can work all the way up with doctors/midwife clearance. I finish work up 2 weeks before my due date I'm due 19th December and finish on the 5th. It also depends on how you feel as well. So really maternity leave is very person and how you can handle it financially etc.

I'm due December 29 and as of now my last day will be November 21-25... somewhere in there. 
I work on my feet and it's already turning into a daily struggle. I've been having lots of pains and cramping so I will. It's likely be getting medical leave (for 5-6 weeks) and then taking my maternity leave (for 1 year, I live in Canada).

I was planning on working up until the day I went into labor or 41 weeks :) Unfotunately I'm on bedrest now, but that was my plan! Haha

I'm having twins and I'm considered high risk, so my doctor took me off work at 30 weeks. He won't let me go past 37 weeks. I am very lucky that my employer offers short term disability in addition to fmla, so I'm getting paid 80%of my salary the entire time. With my previous singleton pregnancy I worked up until I delivered. I literally worked the day and had my daughter that evening 😬. I think it depends on the type of work, how your pregnancy is going, and your financial situation.

I'm a server and I'm staying until December 1st. Due December 19th. It's already super tough but it'll fly by and hopefully it'll help him come sooner being on my feet all of the time!

Due 12-17, and I'm working up until thanksgiving. I work on my feet so I know I'll be miserable those last few weeks. I want those last days of pregnancy to get everything in order and make frozen casseroles to eat while I am recovering from birth. Also, just in case I go into labor early I don't want to leave my co workers hanging and have to deal with people working my lasts shifts for me.
