Dilemma: Would you wait or be induced when doc recommends?

So, dilemma - My SO will be in training and I am due to be induced at exactly 39 weeks, which happens to be the worst possible day for SO to leave his job and come for the delivery. Army, though, at least they're letting him leave to be here.

Per their calendar, waiting until 39 weeks 4 or 5 days would be the perfect time to be induced.

Problem? OB practices are to induce no later than 39 weeks with GD patients, regardless of how managed the GD is. I am COMPLETELY diet-controlled. Better BS than my physician even. But, I don't want to risk a higher stillborn or infant death rate. There's a reason they induce no later than 39 weeks. The studies aren't necessarily complete, but, it's the best information they have showing that delivering at 39 weeks may be the ideal time to induce.

While I would love to deliver at my DD, I just want what's best for baby. It would be devastating for everyone involved, including the OB. I probably just need to be more protective and stand up for my LO.
