Multiple days getting +opk...?

Question

When getting multiple days of positive ovulation tests I heard go off my first positive, that true? 
Why do you get multiple days positive? 12/25-27(today) all positive??? Normal?

Answer

Only go by your first positive. If you keep testing after that you are just wasting tests. You ovulate within 12-32 hours AFTER that first positive and your egg only "lives" for 24 hours. THE opk only tests for the surge in the Lutienizing Hormone which kickstarts ovulation. The LH will stick around and go up and down throughout your cycle, hence multiple positive opks.
