My birth story!
I was due on 2nd October. I had my first stretch and sweep 5th October and had a few cramps afterwards but nothing major. Went for my second stretch and sweep on 9th October at about 11:30am. Found out I was 3-4cm dilated. Had a few cramps again but didn't think anything of it. 4pm came and the cramps were getting more consistent still didn't think anything of it. 6pm came and I couldn't even eat my dinner because the pains were coming in every 5 mins and they were pretty painful. I decided to have a warm bath. I called the hospital at 8:30pm and they said 'call back when the contractions are 2 mins apart' 30 mins later I heard and felt a 'pop' in my stomach so I ran to the bathroom and my waters broke! Phoned the hospital back up and they asked me to go in ASAP! Got to the hospital just gone 9:30pm. I couldn't even walk into the hospital, my boyfriend had to push me in a wheelchair. Got into a delivery room at 10pm. As soon as I got into a delivery room I got the urge to push!! Got checked over to find that I was 9cm dilated already!! My baby was back to back which he had been since I was 24 weeks. I was rushed into theatre due to my baby's heart rate dropping. It took them 4 attempts to give me an epidural so I now have 4 pinpricks in my back surrounded by bruising. I had anaesthetic so I was really drowsy and didn't know what was going on. Finally they let my boyfriend in and he came and sat by my side. My contractions apparently stopped for about 10 minutes and then started up again. Within 3 pushes my baby was out and placed on me at 11:13pm. Even though I had to be cut and stitched and forceps were used it was the best thing that's ever happened to me. I'm now in agony daily and on loads of medication but on the plus side I have a beautiful baby to look at every day! 😌
