Saw this on Facebook and I am curious what y'all think about it. I know there are many unmarried people on here with children or who are ttc with their SO's

I'm sure this doesn't only mean wife literally. Could mean taking her seriously and being in a committed relationship with her

Bit controversial- as there are lot of people who decide they want a child by their own- and plenty of women who are single Moms.
This should not be offensive to them- but I kind of agree- the message should read: "if you're not willing to commit- than wear a condom"

Not every woman thinks it's necessary to be married before having kids.

I interpret it as "don't have UNPROTECTED sex with anyone you aren't SURE you're ready to marry/commit to long term" (hence the condom wrapper).

If you are trying to have children then you should be committed to at least spending the duration of their childhood together. Marriage is the easiest way of formalising such an intention but is not necessary,

My fiancé said the only reason he was okay having a kid with me is because he wanted to be with me for the long term.

I'm fine with whatever kind of relationship you want to have, married or not. But if you have a kid with another person, I really hope it's someone you can imagine having a relationship with for at least the next 18 years. Even if you're not lovers, be at least friends, because being a father should be just as labor intensive as being a mother.

I've got friends who are single moms too (with donor sperm), and that's cool too. Just please do that only if you have the support and resources to devote to this future citizen you're responsible for bringing into the world.

In my opinion it could mean a few different things just depends on who you are and how you think of it.

If you can't be loyal wrap it up. 
If she can't be loyal then obviously you wouldn't make her a wife so wrap it up. 
If you don't plan on marrying her wrap it up.

Again I feel like it just depends on how you feel about the situation as to how you interpret it.

I think it just means if you aren't willing to commit to only her, don't make her a mother. There are people that don't believe in marriage but are in committed relationships.
