Advice please?

Question

No matter what I do my cats keep peeing on things. I live in a small apartment so my options are slim. They get in my hamper and pee on all the dirty clothes. They pee on anything left on the floor. Fiancé leaves a towel in the bathroom floor after showering? They pee all over it. I love my cats so much but this is getting ridiculous. :( How can I stop this from this?? I'm buying a hamper that has a lid on it tonight but they get into my trash can with a lid all the time. Ugh.

Making sure the litter box is very clean and in a good location (not too cramped or the box too small) and its suggested to have more than one box if you have more than one cat. It could also be a territorial thing. Best bet would be to contact your vet make sure it isn't a health issue then work on the behavioral if that is the case.
My cat was peeing on literally everything too and we took the lid off of her litter box (we had one with the door thing) And started cleaning it every 1-2 days and she stopped almost immediately.

Ps. Try to wash everything right away, cat pee is an awful thing to get rid of. 
If you have carpet I found spraying it with vinegar water (bout 1:1) dabbing that up and then pouring hydrogen peroxide on it, let it sit for at least 10 mins then dabbing that up as well took care of the smell for me!

We had this issue with one of ours. Is it more than one cat? My first thought is it might be a uti or bladder infection. If cats are having pain while they're urinating, they will associate that with the litter box, and then pee on things that are soft and comfortable, because they are in pain. You might want to check with a vet to rule that out. It could also be stress related. Have you had any changes in your life recently that could affect the cat(s)? Sometimes moving or getting another cat or bringing a new person in the house can stress the cat out, and their response is to pee on things. This was the case with our cat, and at the advice of our vet, we got a plug in pheromone that is supposed to help calm them down, or your vet may recommend kitty Prozac. If you have an extra room that you could put them in while you're figuring this out, it could at least keep them from urinating on beds or other expensive furniture. I get the frustration, though. Hang in there and good luck!
