Cramps and period after IUD insertion?

So, I got my first hormonal IUD on 10/03. It was the second day of my period but by the weekend, my period stopped. A few days later, I started cramping and then a loght flow/spotting again. The cramping and spotting hasn't stopped since. Is this normal? I had some cramping/PMSing after I got the shot a few years ago, so, I figure it's probably just my body getting used to the hormones. I'm just afraid it's not hormones and the IUD might not be in right. The cramping isn't horrible. I've definitely had worse before, but I've never had something -inside- my uterus before either.
