How many other LGBT families are planning for a baby on here? What is your story?

My wife, Abbey, I She and I have recently started talking about conceiving. Her best friend, James, has agreed to donate his sperm. I am looking to meet some new people in a similar situation because we are only just starting tracking my bbt and we don't want to tell anyone we know until she feels more comfortable with the idea. (She's adopted and has always wanted to adopt.) We also don't really want to tell anyone until we become pregnant.

She is also struggling because she wants to be taken seriously as the child's mother, but since she is Dominican and James and I are both Caucasian, she is worried that, that will make people take her less seriously as the mother.
