Energy drink? Scared

I'm currently 36 weeks and 2 days pregnant. I haven't had an energy drink sense my first month of pregnancy. Today I was craving one and had 1 can with dinner. I feel fine. 
I was informed I could of just killed my baby??? I'm really confused. Also informed my child may have heart defects now, or die of SIDS? Didn't hear this from my doctor just from outside people. Anyone drink an energy drink and have their son be totally fine?

Sounds like these people got their medical knowledge from the university of Mickey Mouse.

I wouldn't drink energy drinks during pregnancy, but I think the comments may be slightly over dramatic.

If you drank one every day? Yeah, I'd be worried for baby. But one? I highly doubt it will do anything but make baby very hyper, then crash for a bit. People tend to be fear mongering idiots.

Okay, here's the thing: they don't know how it effects a baby because that kind of research is not ethical.
You're in your last trimester so it's not as bad as if it was your first because that's when a lot of things we eat and drink effect the baby the most (developmentally). 
Now, I know how bad it is to crave an energy drink; I've wanted a cranberry red bull for the last 3 weeks (37 weeks along) but it does say on the can not to consume if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.
So, part of the could be the fact that it's caffeine, if it's under 200mg you're safe in that sense but I think it's the other ingredients in which has others concerned (potentially).
Lastly, ignore everyone else. Ignore everyone's horror stories. They are not medical professionals. If you're really concerned, please either speak with your doctor or a nurse at your hospitals nurse hotline. They are incredibly nice and helpful. 
I'm sure your baby is fine. You had one energy drink. It's not as f you're knocking them back 3 times a day or even every day. It's one since the beginning of your pregnancy. Try not to stress out too much.

Theyre not healthy to drink but honestly one once in a while does no harm. Just dont drink them often
