zofran pump!?

Question

Has anyone had the zofran pump? My ob ordered one for delivery tomorrow and a nurse is coming out to my house to put it in me. Super nervous about it. Anyone who's had it, did you have any complications? Did it work? This is the last resort to my severe vomiting and constant dehydration. The nurse is also having to run iv fluids tomorrow as well and will have to every couple days if I keep vomiting this bad. 😞

UPDATE: I have now got the pump and feel 10x better with it! I've not thrown up a single time yet in over 24 hours. It's been 7 weeks since I've had a vomit free day. I would 100% recommend this to anyone with severe vomiting. It's kind of a pain to deal with but soooo worth it.

I wouldn't take zofran while pregnant for $1,000,000. My best friend's baby had a zofran related birth defect. It was minor, but she still had to have surgery at 6 months old.

Since you want to argue about it, there ya go. It's also not FDA approved for treatment of pregnancy related nausea, it's used off label for this purpose. 
"Zofran is a 5-HT3 receptor antagonist approvedby the FDA for preventing nausea and vomiting related to cancer chemotherapy and surgery. It has been used off-label to treat nausea and vomiting in pregnancy."

You'll feel so much better IV and zofran are miracles together. Don't cause any head changes or anything. One tip get some mini altoids peppermint flavor. Helps too!!

When doctors prescribe this it's usually because not taking it would have bad consequences. If you continue the way you have you have a great chance of loosing the pregnancy. I know many people who have needed zofran and have had no ill effects. It's all about weighing your options.

I went on homecare with daily IVs and zofran pump. The pump is the only thing that allowed me to function somewhat and stay sane. I personally wouldn't let people scare you about taking Zofran. There is a great Facebook group for HG moms with tons of information on all the usual HG drugs. For me either I took the zofran or I would have dehydrated and had severe ketones. The risks there were more significant than any "supposed" drugs. In my opinion I keep in mind that those involved in the zofran lawsuits have a monetary incentive..

I'd do it for a little until your body calms down. Usually when I'd get it for extreme nausea I only needed like three doses felt awesome after that
