Ovarian cyst

I went to the doctor today because I have been having sharp stomach pains for the past three weeks and my period lasted one day, thought maybe I was growing a lil jelly bean, thought wrong, told I have a cyst on my right ovary. I have never had these before and my heart has officially sunk. does anyone have these? is it still possible to have children once it goes away? I asked my doctor this and she didn't really give me a right answer.. all I want to do is cry...
