8dpo pregnancy test in pm

Well.. I caved and took a pregnancy test at 8 dpo, it was negative of course. Now I feel totally crushed!  I know it still may be a little early but I'm feeling like I'm out this months.. just like the last 14 months.  Had my progesterone checked this cycle and It was 12.9 which means I ovulated.  Anybody else get negative tests at 8 dpo and get a positive later?  Ok grasping at straws here.
