I'm almost 32 and I've never had a pap smear. When I first got married I attempted to two years in a row. Both times the doctor couldn't perform the exam because it was too excruciatingly painful. Even with the smaller tools. I was a virgin when I got married. For a long time dh and I didn't have intercourse because I was too scared of the pain. He's been absolutely amazing through all of this! The last couple months we've been staring to bd because we want to start a family. Most times there is still a degree of pain. It's never been pleasurable. Sometimes it's so painful we can't do it, but usually that happens when I get tense about it before hand. I haven't been to a Dr about it because I haven't had insurance for the 3+ years. I finally do starting the 1st.
