Who had an IUI/AI done before?? if so around how much did it cost and how much did your insurance cover PLZ HELP trying to figure out how much we are looking at

My insurance doesn't cover anything. We pay $989 for US and the IUI itself. $168 for sperm wash (not sure why this isn't included). Then separately $400-$800 for the meds (clomid, FSH, trigger shot, estrogen tabs and progesterone vag supp), I've gotten them through the mail and I've heard it's much cheaper that way. Blood draws are covered for me under my insurance.

We paid out of pocket, but I have read that many insurances do pay for some of the treatment. I'd call your insurance. The IUI itself isn't what is expensive. It is the monitoring with the ultrasounds and blood tests. It also depends on what area you live in and every clinic charges differently. You just have to do your research. For our first round we paid nearly $1000. That includes Clomid, 4 blood tests, 4 ultrasounds, trigger shot, IUI, and I have two more appts this month for bloodwork.
