Sorry this is so gross... Is this an ingrown toenail? Or something else? It's clearly infected and not happy and I'm not sure what to do. There's a bit of pus, but mainly blood. I tried to cut my toenail as far from it as possible so it wouldn't dig in :(

Yeah make an appointment to see a podiatrist. when I had an ingrown they had to do a "surgery" which is basically them numbing the toe, digging out the ingrown, and using some type of acid to burn at the root so the ingrown won't come back again. You don't feel a thing, but your toe will be sore for a few days. Definitely worth not having to deal with ingrowns anymore.

I have one on my right foot. I take the clippers, clip the corner a little so it's still attached, then I pull up, towards the tip of my toe. Instant relief and it gives me a couple months. I let it go once and it hurt so much. Go to the doctor to get rid of the infection but then try clipping your toe nails like this from now on

Definitely an ingrown toenail. I had a really bad one and I cleaned it with hydrogen peroxide whenever I could and used polysporin and bandaids to keep it moisturized since i have to wear close toed shoes for the majority of the time. It was a pain in the ass but once my nail grew out a bit, I could finally cut it and then within a week all the pain was gone

Okay so I am an EXPERT on ingrown toenails! When I was 15 I started to get one. Well I hid it from my parents for like 6 months! Because I knew that they would take me to the doctor and I didn't want that! Well it got so bad that I couldn't even wear shoes! The infection was soo bad the when I finally when to the doctor a year later (Yes I had this ingrown toenail for a year.) the infection was bad to the point, numbing medicine wouldnt even take so he had to pull it out without any medicine because it was so infected. It was awful. Well come to find out the doctor we went to, was milking my insurance so I kept coming back with the same toe being ingrown all over again (like 4 other times). Well I guess the infection in my body was awful that my other toe started to become ingrown. So not only did I have a ingrown toenail on my right foot but I also had one on my left foot. So that was another 4,5 maybe 6 months without any shoes. Because this stupid doctor wasn't taking the nail out correctly. We found another one and he too out both sides of my nails on both toes! I haven't had a problem since. Thank god! Now that story time is over here I was I did to help keep the infection down until I could get a doctor to see me.

Soak you foot in warm water with Epsom salt about 2 handfuls maybe more. It won't hurt you to add more. Soak your foot for like 30 minutes. It will help with the infection and swelling. Do this everyday like twice a day.

Try not to wear tight shoes. If you have them wear open toe slippers, you know like the ones that Nike makes but there not exactly slippers there shoes just more sturdy. You can pick some cheap ones up at Wal-Mart or dollar General. I wore socks just because I didn't want anyone looking at mine tho. Its up to you. If you choose to then put a bandaid on it, just to make sure no fuzzies or anything else gets in there.  I put Neosporin on it as well to help with the throbbing and pain. It helps.

Eeeek yeah. I had ingrown toenails on both of my big toes and it got to the point where I couldn't even touch them and wearing shoes would make them bleed. Make a doctors appointment to get themout asap. Soaking them in warm water always helped with the pain

It's an ingrown toenail. That might have to cut some of your toenail out on the sides to make your toenail not as wide. That's what I had to have done. It wasn't painful at all, afterwards it was a little sore and painful but nothing that can't be handled.
