How long after labor (vaginal with stitches) does it take for sex to no longer feel uncomfortable?

I had 7 stitches with my first child and 5 stitches with my second... With my first we had sex after 4 weeks but it was uncomfortable so we stopped. But tried again at six weeks and it was fine. With my second baby we hadn't had sex all through my pregnancy as doc told us to refrain. So when my son was almost 4 weeks we had sex and that was fine too... My husband thanked me for my pelvic floor exercises as he'd read it was looser after having a baby but wasn't the case he said.

It's just what feels right for you. If it's uncomfortable. Stop. And try again in a week or so. A friend of mine has her baby 8 months ago and still gets some pain whilst having sex. So I guess everyone heals different xx

I had a second degree tear and it hurt like a motherfucker for at least 3 weeks. Getting up, sitting, coughing and pissing all felt like I was being torn open. By 6 weeks though my husband and I had sex. I was terrified prior to it, but with a lot of lube, foreplay and patience, it was amazing sex!! A couple positions were tender, so we avoided them. But it wasn't some horrible experience like I've read/expected. We had sex two more times within that same week and by the 4th time, it wasn't even tender anymore.
