Check cervix?

How do I check my cervix? What am I looking for if I'm TTC? Probably a dumb question, but I want to know so please be kind.....

Answer

Use your middle finger (wash hands well first). If at the first knuckle you feel it, that is low, second knuckle is medium height, whole finger in is high. Softness to firmness>> if it feels like the tip of your nose, that is hard. If it feels like your chin, that is medium. If it feels like your lips when they are pursed together, that is soft. And then finally whether or not your cervical os is open or closed. Hope this helps!
