Teething Pain Relief?

Question

What have you given your babies for teething pain relief? My LO is 6 months old and has been screaming m/crying and trying to gnaw on his fingers while crying or trying to bite our fingers. I don't know what to give him to help, his Dr's Appt is in a few days.

My pediatrician said do not use the teething tabs they are really bad for children they have sedatives in them. They said to buy children's red Benadryl and stick a clean finger in it and massage on the gums ever 3hrs as needed. And frozen wash cloth.

Thank you for that.  However, that recall was from 2011 and they were pulled off the shelf due to the natural ingredient Belladonna being inconsistent in dosage.  They have been reformulated and there is no longer any recall on these.  See below.  I have looked this up before too.

We tried the freezer teething rings (used the fridge instead cause they were too cold for our sons). We also use the Hyland teething tablets, they are homeopathic and have worked really well for our oldest son (2 1/2 now) I liked them as an alternative to constantly using Tylenol or Ibuprofen. We tried the mesh teething ring/bag thing with frozen fruit once he was older but that never worked for us.  This time with our 6 month old I'm going to try the frozen wash cloth dipped in milk too.  Good luck with you little one, I just kept telling my first that I promise it gets better and you won't remember any of this! (Even though momma and dada are scarred for life!!!)

I gave my LO daytime orajel every 4hrs during the day along with cool teething rings . I also had a amber teething necklace on him but would take off when he would go down for naps & his bedtime . For bedtime I would give him 1.25ml of infant Tylenol to help ease the pain at night which helped him bunches I also would massage his gums . It took 2 days for 1 tooth to break through now his 2nd tooth is somewhat starting to come in he's been teething for about a week already

At first I did infant orajel, but it wore off so fast that she was even more pissed. Then I tried teething rings and she thought it was a rattle lol. Now I just let her use mine or her dad's fingers, her paci and the many many nipples she's bitten through.

We are rotating two wooden teething rings, a frozen ring, and Sophie giraffe during the day. If it gets bad, a small frozen moist wash cloth really helps. Some babies prefer it just refrigerated (we tried that first), but our guy wants it frozen and he will toss it down and demand another when it melts. We have Tylenol and numbing gel for overnight as well, but he hasn't needed those yet.

My LO started at 2months while we were on Vacation 😒... So I had a cup of ice with his pacifiers in it and kept switching throughout the night as he woke up crying.

Tylenol works but some medicine alternatives are...

If your LO uses a pacifier then you can put ice in it

Infant Tylenol- it is a life saver over here for getting her comfortable at night when it seems to be the worst. During the day teething toys distract her well enough.
