My SO and I live in a very small one bedroom, two room apartment with our two dogs. I've already started having some extreme anxiety over visitors after Liam is born in just 6 short weeks.

We live in Florida and the bulk of our family lives 1500 miles away. His immediate family is all we have residing down here. However, a lot of his extended family has already booked flights to come down the week before the baby's due date so they're here if he comes early.. I gave my mother the okay to come down for the first two weeks to help me considering I'm a girl, first time mother and I'm certain I'm going to want my mother around.

His father was just recently diagnosed with Stage IV cancer and his mother is obsessing over their family being with the baby 24/7..

I'm just at a loss and need some advice. I understand where family is coming from, especially under the current circumstances.. But this is my baby.. My first baby.. And while working two jobs 6 days a week until I go into labor I'm going to want time to rest, recuperate and recover while breastfeeding and being a first time mom.. I'm afraid of being overwhelmed with all the visitors.. I don't want to be irrational but I'd also like to be logical..

Not to mention his mom just told me she wants to take my infant on a week's vacation without me at 4 months old.. He's not even here yet..

Advice from anyone about any of the context would be greatly appreciated. What's a good time frame to stave off or welcome visitors, how long is it recommended to wait until taking the baby anywhere other than the pediatrician's office, etc.
