how do you sterilize your breast pump?

I have Medela breast pump. Do I have to put every piece in boiling water ? Or can I just put them in a dish washer or can I just wash them with warm water ?

I used the sterile microwave bags! I plan to stock up on them too!!

I boiled everything to sterilize once I got it. Then sat it on a clean towel to dry and put in a zip lock bag... I express colostrum currently (doctor recommended for previous issues after delivery) so I'll store the pump parts in the fridge after pumping for the day (I pump in the am and pm) then each night sterilize by boiling.... once baby is here, I plan to do like I previously did with my other two pregnancies which is to refrigerate during the day in zip lock bags between pumpings, just wash with hot soapy water each night or early morning, then sterilize weekly (or if someone is sick, daily).

Medela instructions say to boil everything once a month. Otherwise just wash then or use the sterilize bags!

I boiled all the pieces. They also have medulla sterile bags at baby's r us you can throw in the microwave and do that way too!

I just did this yesterday lol, everything I looked up said to wash with warm water and a gentle soap making sure to rinse really well with warm water and dry on a rack! I thought I would boil them but it can damage the parts if they are not meant to be in that hot of water!
