Does sex affect the cervix position/firmness

Need some advice ladies. I have been using FAM for a year. I'm pretty comfortable in knowing the feel of my cervix. My husband and I have not spent much time under the covers lately, and with the holidays and change in routine I have not been good about taking my temp and checking my cervix regularly. 2 nights ago we were home alone, and made love. I used a spermicide as I knew I was near ovulation. Then yesterday I checked my cervix and it was firm low and closed with no cervical mucus. I thought I was past ovulation and did not protect myself when we made love again. This morning I checked again and it is high and soft. We are not TTC, and I'm worried. Can sex soften the cervix? We don't make love often, and its been years since we have done so 2 days in a row. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thank you.
