14 year old pregnant: UPDATE
I woke up yesterday with a note from my daughter. She told me that she was pregnant and that she needed me to make an appointment for her. Her dad had already took her to school so I just waited until school ended yesterday. After school, her dad and I had the longest talk with her. My baby thought I was going to put her out and disown her. I had her when I was 15 and I had the hardest time raising her, finishing high school, and finishing college. My ma kicked me out but my husband's than boyfriend family took me in and helped me with raising her. I would never kicked her out or force her to get rid of the baby but I am very disappointed in her. I haven’t told her this but my husband and I cried about it last night. Her appointment is at 11 this morning. I am feeling so down right now. I don't want her to see how disappointed I am in her so I have to fake it.
We haven't went over any options yet or even spoken with the boy's family. We're meeting them for dinner tonight to talk about everything.
I am not sure how I am supposed to feel, I don't want my baby to feel how I felt when I told my ma. It was probably the worse day of my life seeing how my ma reacted.
Update: I learned yesterday that she is more than half way through this pregnancy. She has been taking prenatal vitamins. She has known that she was pregnant for 2 months now. I am extremely pissed that this has been happening under my roof. She's a healthy weight and one of the reasons why she decided to tell me now is because she was nervous about not gaining weight. My daughter and baby girl are healthy, doctor stated that most teenage mothers don't get bigger until closer to 7 months.
We have discussed the other options and she and the father have decided that they want to keep the child. The father is only 16 but he has been working. His parents seem to be supportive now but things change. My husband and I will be responsible for supporting the baby for the most part.
My daughter, husband and I are going to come up with a plan to make sure she is able to finish out high school and go on to the local community college or 4 year university.
Even though I am mad and disappointed, I am excited about a new life.
My husband has some colleagues who need a babysitter so my daughter will start to bring in some money to save up for some of the expenses.
Thank you all for the support and kind words.
