Ending breastfeeding

I have been breastfeeding for 11 months and plan to stop next month. I have a had a few friends that gained weight when they stopped because their bodies were use to losing the extra calories. My doctor told me that some women (particularly smaller women) will not lose the finL 10-15lbs until they are finished nursing. I was 107lbs when i got pregnant and am very active but have not been able to lose the last 15lbs. What has your experience been? Did you gain or lose weight after breastfeeding?
