confused period

So I had my little girl august 23rd and have had bleeding on and off again since then. The bleeding had gotten to where i would bleed a week, stop a week, bleed a week and so on and so forth. Well I started to think it may be my period slowly getting back into the swing of things so I started logging it. I don't have bc so me and my boyfriend use the pull out method which I KNOW is not 100% effective. Well I haven't started bleeding yet and it is 3 days late on starting. Any advice on if maybe it's finally back to the normal once a month cycle or if I need to possibly get a pregnancy test? Thanks in advance for any advice or ideas! 😊
