Why does my baby like to sleep like this?

Is there any way I can stop him from doing this?  He sleeps in boppy pillow because of his bad acid reflux.  Doctors said was OK as long as strapped in. The blanket is under the pillow so he can't pull it up over his face.  He gets up and bends in half to have his face on the blanket.  He likes to pull stuffed animals to his face to "give them loving ". When I'm rocking him to sleep he grabs the blanket and pulls it up to his face to rub his face with it.  It scares me because I don't know if he will do this and not turn his head to the side. Any suggestions please.

I'd remove the boppy pillow and leave him be. 
He's putting himself into his own position that's comfortable for him and his reflux

Mine has severe reflux also and we propped the whole crib mattress up and put "bumpers" under the fitted sheet to stop him from rolling/sliding down the incline

My daughter is almost 3 and she still loves her boppy. My 7 month old insists on sleeping on his face lately. Im constantly turning him.

Update: last night I removed pillow and blanket.  Every time I would lay him down he would wake up.  I put a normal pillow under mattress for his reflux until can get a wedge.   It was after 12 am and I hadn't been asleep yet and was falling asleep in chair trying to get him to sleep so I gave up and put him in bed with me.  I don't like having him in bed with me.  Only time I do is if he wakes up hour or two before alarm goes off and maybe a nap.  But he usually prefers to sleep in his room.  Any suggestions on what to use for him to have the feeling of something next to him as we transition from not using boppy?  I've looked online and only thing I've found is in China.  I also found putting pool noodle in pillow case and it makes kinda a c shape to help keep them from rolling.  I'm not sure what I can do. He's been in in boppy pillow since a week old and been on reflux medicine since 2 weeks.  He just had a test done and the reflux is worse than we thought.  So I have to keep him elevated.  I just don't know what I can put next to him since he's used to having boppy wrapped around him.

Well tonight he done this 3 times in about 3 hours.  So I got him up put pants on him and took pillow and blanket out. I rocked him back to sleep but as soon as Iayed him down he woke up.  I put pillow under mattress for now until we get wedge for his reflux.   I'll try to lay him on side when lay him down again.  If that doesn't work I have no idea what I'm going to do. He's used to having something right up against him.

I give Rogan a thin receiving blanket or a small burp cloth, no real blanket he still uses a sleep sack, i don't know why they insist on putting blankets to their face. I think he's outgrown sleeping in the boppy though, that doesn't look very comfortable.

Maybe get rid of boppy and try a crib mattress wedge instead....? I personally wouldn't feel safe leaving him like that, he is trying to reposition himself and can't because he's strapped down....
