1 or 2 embryos-FET
I am 28, my husband is 29. We're both very healthy but have been diagnosed with unexplained infertility. I had a natural miscarriage (blighted ovum) at 6.5 weeks and a natural ectopic at 10 weeks. We visited a RE and started IVF in June. 10 eggs, 8 mature, 5 fertilized, 2 made it to day 5, transferred 1, froze 1. We were blessed to get pregnant on our first try but miscarried at 8 weeks (6 week progression). We healed and tried again. A fresh cycle since we only had 1 remaining emby and our RE wanted to increase the amount we had to work with in the future. 4 eggs, all 4 made it to day 5, transferred 1, froze 3, so 4 frostys total. Again, success, but again, failure. I had a chemical pregnancy.
I met with my doctor on Friday and she is recommending we transfer 2 of our frozen embryos to better our chances. With 4 losses total I am willing to do whatever it takes, but I'd be lying if I said transferring 2 didn't scare me. I think that we could handle twins...both mentally and financially...but the thought of a higher risk pregnancy is where I have doubts.
I know not all twin pregnancies are high risk and I also know that not all 2 embryo transfers result in 2 babies, but I'm trying to look into all of the "what if" scenarios.
I'd appreciate if anyone has input or advice!
