Car seat inspection?

Do you have to get your carseat inspected at the fire department before the hospital lets you take baby home? Does the hospital ask for proof or something?

My hospital doesn't check or ask anything and honestly I wouldn't let anyone check your seat or give you advice if they aren't certified. Getting it inspected at a fire Dept could be helpful for you but only if your fire Dept has cpsts As most do not.

Never had that happen. I've only been asked that the baby sit in the car seat for an hour before discharge to make sure they are ok.

Nope. It's nice to do if you aren't sure you have done it right but you don't have to. They check the installation before they let you leave anyway

The nurse just checked he was buckled in properly and then we left. Didn't check the base in the vehicle or anything.

You don't have to get it inspected... it can't be more than 5yrs old... the hospital will ask if you have one and to see it before you discaharge
