Cervadil???

Question

I know the Cervadil is just supposed to ripen your cervix but has anyone had it placed and gone into labor just from that being in? I'm currently 3cm and getting induced tommorow night with that first. Hoping to stay away from the Pitocin if I can.

I was at 1cm when I went in to be induced 2 weeks ago, and 2 hours after they inserted that I went straight into full blown labor!! Didn't even need pitocin!went from a 1 to a 5 within 2 hours, Doctor broke my water and I got the epidural and BAM went to a 7 then an hour later to a 9 and before I knew it she was here😊

I had a cervadil put in Monday the 24 @6pm I was only dilated 1cm at 40 weeks and 1 day, at around 1-2am I started to get contractions, at 6am on the 25th got pitocin while 3cm dilated, contractions started getting pretty close at around 7:30-8am but was only dilated to 4cm,  baby's heart was dropping a little when contractions happened and contractions weren't letting me breathe anymore, Dr. Was planning a c-section just incase but let me continue a little, by the grace of god I dilated to 10cm and had my baby at 10:30am, had a midwife come in cause my Dr. Was in surgery, all natural ftm, widwife was impressed and so were the nurses, I think my labor was pretty good tbh, it could have gon either way but hopefully it's working good for you ! They never gave me the option of having that without pitocin. But neither worked for me...I had to have a c-section. But I wasn't progressing, my body just wasn't ready, I regret not waiting for my body to do its natural thing everyday. I am 39+2 days with my 2nd baby and I can't be induced due to the c-section, but I wouldn't want to even if I could. Your body will tell you when it's ready, your risk of c-secrion goes way up when you get induced. How badly do you want your baby out? Surgery wasn't worth it for me, and now it's affecting my 2nd child's birth. I know you want to meet your baby but let your body work, it knows what to do.

I was barely 1 cm, 50% effaced starting cervadil. 10 hours later I was 4 cm with strong contractions and I got the epidural (they took the cervadil out at that point). Maybe an hour later my water broke and after 17 hours since the start of the induction I had my baby boy, no pitocin needed. The nurses seemed pretty sure I would need the pitocin but my body had other plans 😛

I had 4 doses of cervidil only dialtedn 2cm in 16hours I was 39 weeks.

I am now at the hospital with Cervadil. It didn't do anything the first time so they are going to do more.  My cervix apparently is very deep and is not cooperating.  It's a little frustrating that there isn't any progress.  The doctor is about to do another dose and then I have to wait 4 more hours to see if there is any progress.  I'm trying to be positive.   I'm also at 41 weeks today!

I was induced at 38 weeks because of my high blood pressure and I wasn't dilated at all. Had cervadil inserted, after 12 hours I wasn't quite to a cm. They didn't want to start pit until I was at least 2 or 3 cm and a little more softened. They gave me a second cervadil. I ended up starting to have small contractions with the second and I dilated to 2 cm. Then I started pitocin at 6 am and around 10:30 that night got checked and was fully dilated. The cervadil part made my induction feel like forever lol only because it has to be in 12 hours and I needed it twice. And for 2 hours after it's inserted you have to stay in bed. From what I was told everyone reacts differently to cervadil some people it works really really well and other people it doesn't do anything. So, hopefully you'll have better luck than me! And maybe where you're already dilated you'll go into labor without pitocin!

I am getting induced tonight with cervidil also. I have been reading that it definitely can send you straight into labor and bypass the need for pitocin. Since you are already 3cm you already have that going for you. I will hope for both of us that cervidil works good for us and we can bypass pitocin!  I think it really depends on how your body responds, and everyone is different. How many weeks are you?
