Are the hospital rooms usually cold?

I don't know if the room will be cold or not but i will be having my baby in the middle of summer (december 31st - living in australia) i just don't know if i should pack long sleeves or short sleeves for the baby. So are the rooms usually cold or a normal temperature?

I'm in Aus too. My hospital is private so each room has its own air con but the midwife at intake and my ob told me pack long sleeve/leg onsies as well as the babies can't regulate temp and the rooms will be a bit chilly if using the aircon.

I've packed a good mix of long sleeve/short leg, short sleeve/short leg and long arm/leg rompers.

I think most hospitals are cool, in general. I'm in the hospital on bedrest and I have a thermostat that controls my room, which is nice. I have a mixture of long and short sleeves, just in case. :)

Mine had its own thermostat in my room that I could adjust to my preference.

I think it depends with my first over in NZ all the rooms were of a really warm temp because babies can't regulate their temp properly. But I now live in Australia I'm packing long and short sleeve because I live in WA and it's already getting quite warm but I feel like it will still be alright for them to be in long sleeves to start with.

Mine has its own thermostat so you can control the temp in your own room, the rest of the hospital was freezing though..

They're cold. Hospitals are cold in general. But I think baby will be swaddled most of the time so either long sleeve or short sleeve will be fine as long as you bring receiving/swaddle blankets. :)
