where does baby sleep

Question

I'll be bringing home my new born in about 3 weeks, she has a cradle set up beside my bed where I figured she sleep. Is it easier for baby to sleep in bed with the parents the first couple days, or weeks? How long till you transition them to the cradle?? FTM here.. thank you

Doctors will tell you not to sleep with your baby. You run the risk of rolling over on them

Please don't put baby in bed with you, you can roll over on them and suffocate them whether you're a light sleeper or not! Use a bassinet cradle etc

We've never had our baby I bed with us. For us it's not safe (sound sleepers that move a lot!). We did the bassinet for 3 weeks and then moved him into his crib in the nursery full time

I admit that I do usually sleep with my newborn. I keep.myself wedged with pillows. I do this as I have csections so getting up and down is hard those first couple weeks. And with baby wanting to breastfeed a lot, its just easier. You do have to be careful. You don't want to roll over on baby. I sleep wedged and in a partial sitting position to help with this.

We brought him home and he slept right in his crib. This momma doesnt wanna transition too much.
