Any AUS mums elect to have caesarean?

Question

I really want to talk to my midwife about an elective caesarean for lots of reasons, and I'm wondering if anybody else had success requesting an elective Caesarean section?

It's my first pregnancy! Our midwife has gone back and forth with it being necessary and then not - I originally had placenta previa (which moved at 32 weeks), and now because he's measuring so large, nearly 10 pounds and 5 weeks ahead, and they're just saying "not to worry" about it now. My family history is ALL medical inductions, with interventions like forceps, episiotomys, vacuums etc. (Not one natural birth)  
With our baby being so large it's not a risk I want to take, he's not engaged at all. I don't want to be induced only to need an emergency c-section/episiotomy and vacuum birth.

I had an emergency csection and if I could change it to a vaginal birth I would in a heartbeat. Major surgery is dangerous and invasive. The healing took longer and was very limiting. I will tell anyone wanting a csection to try vaginal first.
