was that a period?

So I stopped taking my birth control around the 19th of last month about a week after my period. I know a lot of women said they had a little bleeding right after they got off but not me. After 5 days of being off of it I finally bled and it was the worst bleeding of my life & it lasted 6 days. My birth control made my period pretty light and short so what I'm asking is, was that a period or just bleeding from getting off the pill? Just trying to figure out if im not getting a period because I'm pregnant or that was it. I haven't bled since but if that was my period I won't until around the 14 of November. I have had pregnancy symptoms since but so far I'm not. Taking another test Sunday. :(
