So I'm graduating in December and it will be the first time my boyfriend goes out to eat with my whole family. My family views him as a son so I told my boyfriend he probably won't have to pay for anything. My boyfriend said no he'll pay for himself and at first I was coop with because I felt like it was pride thing. Today he was talking about how some of his friends' parents always pay for everything if they go because they view him as son and my boyfriend is cool with it. So I asked why is it a problem is my dad pays for dinner on my graduation night. My boyfriend said because he has his own money and I said my family views you as a son yet that can't pay for your dinner but it's cool with your friends' family. I also said it kinda makes me feel like you don't want to be part of my family. He said I'm tripping and making a big deal out of nothing. So I'm truly wrong or overreacting?
