In labor?

Question

36 weeks 6 days. Having contractions +- every 10 minutes, was 1 cm dilated Monday and 25% effaced, pains are mostly in back and wrap around to stomach occasionally. At first the pain was a 2 on a scale is 1-10. Now it's a 3, and baby is not moving near as much when I woke up this morning. Help???

You can do 1 of 2 things...
Relax, drink tons of water and see if they go away..

Walk, stairs, bounce and see if you can get them to progress more.

You can always give l&d a call to be sure. Most likely experiencing back labor. Mine were all in the front until active then it took over my hips back everywhere! If they are 10 minutes apart you should just relax, shower, walk. They can end up going away or getting worse but you def don't want to be tired and stressed. Once you go to the hospital they don't usually let you eat or drink so staying at home is beneficial. Can take a while or not and some won't even take you when they are that far apart. Relax!  Walk around and maybe take a shower.  It's more comfortable to Labor at home than the hospital.   If your contractions aren't 5 minutes apart yet or pain is only a 3 then you have time.  If you're worried call your doctor.

Thanks everyone, still around 10 mins apart but pain is intensifying and moving out from back more! This may end up being the real deal!!

Hey don't consider it "active labor" till your contractions are 5 minutes apart for an hour or more. That's what L&D told me and anything before that, unless I think something is wrong, not to come in. Call, but hold off on coming it.
If you're contractions are not close enough together, they'll just send you home.
