Does age really matter?

Is it that big of a deal? I mean if you are 18+ is it a problem? Can anyone tell their age and guys age difference? (Big differences)...

To me age is just a number. My husband and I are 19years apart. I'm 25 and he's 44. We've been together for a little over 5 years.  He's very supportive, caring and loving. My husband is like an old school kind of guy.  He goes to work to support us, I didn't start working until a year ago. I really didn't have to go out and get a job but I was getting bored.  He is not controlling, nor abusive or anything negative that goes on in a relationship. We rarely get into arguments or fight.  We are always happy,  laughing,  listening to each other vent, he's my best friend! even with female problems I talk to him about and he's very helpful. He even does my girlie needs shopping and surprises me with some snacks!  Lol!!

I'm 21 my boyfriend is 34. In the beginning it wasn't that hard. It still isn't that hard as we get along great, we're like best friends, he acts a lot younger and I act a lot older so it evens out. I forget about or age difference other than the fact that he has an 11 year old son with a CRAZY baby mama, he's been divorced (not the mother of his child) he's been in a lot of relationships and he's my first real relationship so it's hard for me sometimes to get used to all that  and also my family doesn't really approve yet but I love him with all my heart and he makes me happy so that's what matters most.

When I was 19 I dated a 29 year old although at the time I thought it was great (however it ended badly) in hindsight I know there were a lot of differences. As I got older I realized we didn't have a lot in common and he was kind of a loser. He had gotten a dui previously so he had no license.  I wasn't 21 so we couldn't even get a drink together.  He lived with his mom then when we got a little more serious and he got really possesive. I had just lusted after him but at the end of the day there wasn't a true long lasting connection.  I just think that sometimes it matters sometimes it doesn't.  I think it depends on the people,  the circumstances and just the individual needs and desires.  I do feel like usually people have more in common and similar stages of life if you're around the same age so there is a lot of common ground, so thats why most people end up with someone their own age but it just depends.  I think it can be a slippery slope though unless you're just one of those unique situations where it turns out to work for you.

I am 20 & my husband is 26. Our age has honestly never been an issue. He is the sweetest man I've ever met & I thank God for him!  I believe age affects different people in different ways. It's all about ones mindset. I had a friend whom was 17 years old that dated a 22 year old & he was aweful to her. He was controlling and manipulative constantly. It's all about the person! 15 & 16 year olds do not have a fully developed mindset to deal with a significantly older man sometimes because they are at different levels and places in their lives. Not to say a 16 & 22 year old can't ever work out but just in cases I've seen it was very unstable. I have known my husband since I was 5 years old & age wasn't ever an issue or concern I guess because we are so compatable. A lot of older men and women can be manipulative because they know all the tricks.
