To confirm ovulation the spike has to maintain or go higher than the last six pre ovulatory Temps for three consecutive days,  or has to be backed by an opk,  faded opks don't count I've heard.  I'd have back up clear blue easy ones.  Once your temp spikes ovulation has happened and the egg is either fertilized or expired by that point.
