missing strings ?

I got my mirena IUD a month ago and today I went to check my strings and can't tell if I'm just not feeling them because of my acrylic nails... with that being said what's the recommendation on this. Should I just visit my a doctor like immediately

I have actually had my IUD come out of place, and I've also been unable to feel my strings at times (when it was properly in place).

When it was out of place, it was sitting too low in my cervix so I could actually feel the plastic of the IUD instead of just the "fishing wire" strings.

Your cervix changes throughout your cycle. It moves, elongates, tilts.  Wait a day or two and continue to check for the strings. If it's been a few days and you still can't feel the strings at all, I would go to the doctor to get things checked out.

I've had a similar problem multiple times. For me, the strings/wires ended up curling back up around my cervix, so I can't feel them at all, ever. Are you having any pain, discomfort or cramping with the strings missing?
