My birth story 💕

Danielle
My due date was Monday October 24th. Due to barely contracting any, they scheduled me an appt at 9:15 to get checked again. My doctor had originally planned to have me induced the following Thursday, but due to my fluids being low, and the baby's breathing being shallow, they put me in that day. I got to the hospital and got everything set up. Still barely dilated, they gave me a pill(can't remember what it's called) and stuck it in my uterus. The pill was supposed to make my cervix open, but it barely did the job. They put me on oxygen because the baby's heart rate was fluctuating. They started me on pitocin that evening to speed up the process. The contractions were coming closer and closer and getting increasingly painful. At this moment I'm practically begging for pain medicine. They couldn't give me any medicine until the baby's heart rate was up, which took about 3 hours!
They give me the medicine and I could still feel the contractions pretty good. They have me my epidural the next morning, which made all the difference. After checking me again I was still only dilated 4cm after almost 15 hours of labor. They start the drip and pitocin again to speed up contractions, but baby's heart couldn't handle it. They decided to go with a c section.
An hour later I meet my beautiful 8 lb 7 ounce baby girl! Currently in the healing process and I'm pretty miserable. I feel for anyone who might have to have a c section or has already have one. It's truly a scary and painful situation. But every time I look at her it reminds me that it's all worth it!
