what God wants

Question

How do you know if God is asking/telling you to do something? Even if you're not sure that you want to do it? Any experiences with this?

Heres a little experience that happen to me.
I havent get my period for this month and my periods are always normal....and am like more than 10 days late....i was thinking i was pregnant. I even had a dream where i was having a boy....and the night before i took a pregnancy test i dream that i took the test and came out positive! So in my head i was thinking oh, man am pregnant... but to be honest with u i already have to kids, and i didnt really wanted to get or planning to get pregnant....so i was getting really worried......
Well day before i took a pregnancy test.
I went into my kids room and prayed for like 30 min...and talk to God...i told him how.i felt and that he knew my heart and that he knew i didnt really wanted another baby at the moment...i just told God how i felt, and told him that i put in on his hand and for him to make the final decision cuz he knows whats best for me,  no matter what happens...

So the next day first thing in the morning i took a pregnancy test and came out Negative! 
I was sooo happy....
Second day morning took a second test came out Negative..... 
I dont know how, i dont know when my period will come but God works in mysterious ways...that what ever happends always give out glory to him that everything he does is for the best of us!

I would say the best thing u can do...is pray......but open your heart to him and let him know that you need his guidance. Talk to him and tell him to show it to you either through a dream or through someone else! God can speak up to u in so many different tell him to show u. And if your not really sure if its god talking to u tell him to  confirm it to u by showing to u again!

You know when you're praying/meditating and your mind go silent and then your hear your inner voice? To me, that's 'god' contacting you.
