Hi guys! So I'm getting married soon and my soon to be husband have decided to wait before we have sex. Keep in mind that up until this point I have never had sex or been on any birth control.

I was thinking of getting an implant as a form of birth control, as I am terrible with taking pills as is. Is there any suggestions anyone could offer?

I'm also hesitant since we are going overseas to get married so I'm not sure if that will have an affect on it?

It all depends upon how your body responds to it. Some people have constant periods, or in my case, you don't have one at all. Some women have light spotting every now and again, it truly just depends on how your body responds to the hormones.  I'm horrible with taking pills as well, and the implant has been an absolute dream for me. It can take up to 6 months for your body to fully adjust to it, but if you're willing to wait it out, then I'd highly suggest it. The process in getting it put in isn't horrible either. They'll mark your arm, numb it, and insert it. You'll probably have a bruise for a week or two, so I'd suggest getting it done well before your wedding to allow the bruise to go away. It lasts for 3 years. You just have to wait 7 days before having sex after getting it. As for going overseas, I don't see why that'd be a problem but it's something to ask your doctor.

Ummmmm it's a high chance it will start your period. I've been on mine for over a month straight. If you're willing to take that risk then go for it
