Is is bad to get induced???

I'd rather not. I'm actually set against it unless it's extremely necessary. I read extensively about it and I'd rather not. Plus, it'd be my last resort. I'd much rather try reflexology, herbs, acupuncture, nipple stimulation, walking, etc. Also, "due dates" can be off by as much as 2 weeks. I'd be sure my doc looks into this. I have also read that ultrasounds can be wrong when predicting baby's weight. ( one lady was told she needed a csection to birth her 10lb baby- turned out her baby was 7 lbs

No but it causes a higher risk for an emergency c section.  I personally would only be induced for medical reasons not just because I'm uncomfortable or just impatient.  I was offered to get induced with my first just so she could come 11/11/11 but I chose not to.  Well lucky for me she came that day anyway! So I felt good about not doing it!

I got induced at 42 weeks because there are risks when you're that late and he was showing no signs of arriving. I really wanted labor to come on it's own because of the c-section risk and the painful contractions (I had no other meds besides Pitocin). I would not get induced unless you need to medically or you're really overdue. The average first time mom goes into labor on her own at 41+1. Labor typically just goes smoother when the baby is ready!
I really hope my next baby comes on its own. 
There are plus sides to delivering late though...the babies are able to suck and swallow better, they're able to control their temperature better, stronger lungs, better blood sugar, the list goes on. 
My "late" son is so healthy, has breastfed like a champ since day one, sleeps great at night and is way ahead in baby milestones. :)
Although I will say, every day past your EDD feels like an extra trimester ;)

I got induced a few days ago, 16 hour labor and normal, vaginal delivery. Got discharged the next day and even drove home.

Nah. I am being induced in 6 days because of high bp lvls, im already favorable. The only thing thatll be different from my first pregnancy where my water broke on its own, is that they will break my water. Still gonna have an IV, still gonna have pitocin and still getting an epidural. Every pregnancy and every experience is different. Im not for getting induced "just because" but if its medically necessary,  some women have to. But, for my experience,  not much will be different.

I agree with dew. I think it's best to just wait. I chose induction with my first...but thankfully I went into labour on my own that morning.

I got induced 2 days after my due date... With first Child Pain was Incredibly High compared to the next year of child number 2... No induction or pain medicine all natural. So it is okay to get induced but be warned it caused harder contractions. With this Baby I don't want that added pain... Unless medically needed

Not bad, it can be intense and can raise your risk for an emergency c section but sometimes need to be used for medical reasons and if you are passed due. Things happen.

Every experience is different.  I have been induced with all 3 of mine for different medical reasons and all 3 deliveries were different.
