FTM - newborn crib insert?

We are planning on buying this crib and will NOT be buying a bassinet. Should we use some sort of insert for a newborn. Any recommendations?

My doctor said nothing should be in the crib for newborns, no toys, blankets, inserts or bumpers just the sheet and baby

No inserts needed at all, it's unsafe.  If you want to make it easier on transitioning from like a bassinet to a crib, you can roll up a blanket or towel into a "U" shape and place it under the fitted crib sheet. But you have to remove it once baby learns how to roll.

I just got my babyletto delivered to me over the weekend 😁 no insert needed. I'm just going to use the babyletto mattress, waterproof cover pad and a crib sheet cover. I may use a bed skirt but I'm having a hard time finding any that match his room theme.

I have the babyletto Hudson too. All I use are the mesh crib liner for around the crib. It keeps baby's limbs from sticking through the slats and the mesh is breathable.
