Burp cloths...?

Ftm. Seems like birth cloths are something you need like a dozen of. If that's correct (please correct me if not), is it better to throw down for those specialized, curved burp cloths or use cloth diapers?? Brand recommendations MORE than welcome!!!

Flour sack towels from the kitchen section in Walmart work great. It's like $5 for 10 or something like that. They're the size of a receiving blanket. We had soo many as I bought them originally to use for cloth diapering (quickly realizing I hated using covers and moved on to a different cloth diaper style), that I started using them as burp cloths. They are also really great for plopping your hair😉 Very multifunctional!

I use the cloth diapers and have great success with them. My boys always had crazy reflux so I have a couple bags worth of them and took them everywhere.

Neither. I bought a crap ton of receiving blankets to use. Burp clothes are so tiny they hardly catch anything half the time

I got a bunch of extra receiving/swaddling blankets. I had cloth diapers and a couple burp rags and they were worthless...it all ended up down my shirt because they're too small. I actually use my burp cloths for wash rags now and keep the cloth diapers for emergency changes in the car if I forget the diaper bag that has the actual diapers in it. I've found cloth diapers are also good for seat padding for infants to make sure they're snug in their car seat.

I plan on using my receiving or swaddling blankets. The swaddling ones are so versatile.
