Getting a epidural when you have Spinal Bifida..

Sara
Hi ladies! So I was wondering if there were any mommas out there that have spinal bifida occulta and have gotten a epidural. I am 39 weeks and this is baby number 5 for me. I have never had an epidural before so I was really considering getting one this time around but I'm scared to cause I have spinal bifida occulta and I don't know if it will effect my back in any way. I had read online about it could possibly cause paralysis or not even work or that the anesthesiologist won't even do the epidural if you have spinal bifida. I'm sure this could be really over exaggerated, especially cause it's coming from the Internet, but you never know. I do have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and I plan on talking to my doctor about it, but I also just wanted to get other mommies personal experiences. Thanks in advance!
